End of Life Support

If you have an animal companion who is elderly or seriously ill, I can help with communication, calming bodywork and gentle massage.

When our pets are ill or ready to transition, it can be such a difficult and scary time. We are often unsure whether we should keep going with treatments, or whether it is time to make the decision to let them go. Being able to communicate with your pet at this time can ease a lot of the worry and provide peace for everyone involved.

In my communication with animals, I have found that they have a lot to teach us about death. They do not see it as any different than other phases of life. It is part of the circle, the continuum. The understand that they can still be with you in spirit. But this is not to say that they do not grieve the loss of their physical bodies, and their beloved companions. They often have a lot to say when they know they are coming to the end of their lives and may have specific instructions about things that they need to do before they go.

I am available in person locally, to provide bodywork and physical support for your pet, and can provide distance support through connection and communication.

If you are wanting support in this situation, please contact me and we can discuss what is best for your unique situation.

“…Faith was around 15 years old and had been developing some health issues. She was completely blind, had quite a few of her teeth out and was having trouble getting around. I had been wrestling with whether she was suffering and in a lot of pain, and whether it was time to let her go. This was when we found Lucy, and asked her to connect with Faith. She said that although Faith’s tummy was bothering her a bit, and she was finding it harder to get around, she wasn’t in a lot of pain. She gave us some guidance on changing her diet and keeping her comfortable. Faith said that she was not quite ready to go, as she needed a bit more time to release some “mother” grief that she was still carrying. Lucy didn’t know that we had rescued Faith from a puppy mill. Faith said that she needed more time to just be with the family, and she requested that we spend more time holding her and loving her. Lucy said that Faith had always felt safe and loved with us.

It is so hard to know what is the right thing to do when your pet is getting older. You question whether you are doing the right thing, or are being selfish because you don’t want to say goodbye. We had 7 more months with Faith, thanks to Lucy. When it was time to say goodbye, I knew she was ready. Lucy had taught me to read my dog. I highly recommend Lucy and am grateful for her gift. She can help give so much insight into your pet”.
